Sri Lanka Rally 2020 | Day 9 | Nuwara Eliya to Kandy | Bespoke Rallies

The breakfast at the Grand Hotel Nuwara Eliya was just as impressive as the buffet dinner.  After everyone had had a much needed relaxing day off enjoying the hotel facilities, visiting the local town with a central market and many local shops, walking through Victoria Park, we were on the road again heading to Kandy.On route we visited the Pedro Tea factory and Plantation and Lovers Leap waterfall  Legend has it that lovers have leapt to their deaths from this waterfall and hence its name. Although a few opted to visit these sites on the day off and have a later start.

The road to Kandy is a downhill winding road through the beautifully laid out tea plantations. Past many tea factories and a reservoir. As we reach the outskirts of Kandy the chaotic traffic builds up as do the pollution levels. Our hotel, Anaya Hills, is located out of the town,  high up on the hillside with speculator views.

That evening at the hotel we were able to welcome our new participant, Chloe Teacher, who will be joining us for the rest of the rally.
